Description: This vintage Gibson is the early model 1933 L50 it came out with a glued pick guard on the early model and followed by the raised pick guard. Gibson L50 guitars are a great find for any musician or collector. With its travel body type and 6-string configuration, this guitar is perfect for any right-handed player. The archtop soundboard style adds a unique touch to the overall design, making it a standout piece. The year of this guitar is 1933, and it is part of the Vintage series. This guitar is in good condition for 91 years old, it appears to have had repairs, and this what I noticed, a crack on the side that appears to have been repaired, and a crack on the heel, and it has the normal scratches and dings anyone should expect on a 91 year old guitar. The FON NUMBERS 432 and the location identify the build year and batch for guitar, which I have found out to describe the 1933 L50 round holearch top deminsionally . There were years or models that didn't have serial numbers, and that's where the FON NUMBERS serve to explain the year and batch as well as the model number. This is all explained in numerous catalogs as well as give the guitar dimensions. This It is one of the first ones made with these dimensions. Next came the L50 with the f holes and the raised pick guard. I have listed every dimension so you can double-check the make and model #. Overall length 38 3/4 Body thickness 3 1/4" Bottom across 14 5/8 4" circular hole 19 fretts 16 3/4" frett board ) 1 3/4" nut width Guitar body length 18" Bridge length 5 1/2" 5/16" fem. Truss nut Head stock truss Rod nut cover black with 2 screws Triangular string holder attached with slotted 3 slotted screws. Peg is inserted into the guitar through the triangular string attachment This is the information gathered from various sites and publications. Also, with help from Gibson customer service. The L50 appears priced lower than any I have found on the market. The top looks original. The top could have had some pick guard work in that area. The back appears to have been refinished and is smooth and shows no sign of separation, dents, or patchwork. The Gibson insignia has been restored. Tuners are correct for the era. If I can help in any way, additional photos of any area just ask or if you need to see a measurement on photo.
