Description: Up for Buy it Now or Best Offer is the original Western, Cowboys and Indians theme artwork painted by my late brother George A Bush for St. Martins publishing. Painting title as shown / spelled on the back " Last Worior " That's all I know about this painting. It was painted for a publishing company but the paintings shape would suggest that it was either what is called a "Wrap around " book cover, that covers the front and back of a book, or it was on the inside of a publication covering 2 pages. As far as the year it was painted I don't know. From the looks of my late brothers handwriting and the misspelling of the word Warrior , my guess would be the late 90's. His handwriting got worse as the multiple sclerosis he suffered from started affecting his handwriting. He pushed on with his artwork the best he could. So sad 😞 to see such a talented illustrator just fade away. I have high resolution photos posted that show the small details when you zoom in. Please inspect it for yourself and ask any questions should you have any. Thanks 😁 This was painted on Art Board and measures 16 1/2 inches tall by 25 1/2 inches wide. The painting area measures 12 1/4 inches x 21 3/8 inches. I am getting low on the Western themed paintings so grab one while you can. With my brothers paintings now being sold to the public, the value of his paintings is sure to increase over time. Historically a few of his paintings sold for over $10,000.00 years back when he had some up for sale in a well known art gallery in Arizona . This was hand painted long before computer generated art started being used on book covers. That form of art started being used in the late 1990's by many publishing company's as it cost them quite a bit less that hiring a talented illustrator. Down below in this ad is a list of my Brothers lifetime accomplishments. It's a long one thats for sure. George was well known in the art industry throughout his career spanning from the late 1970's to the late 1990's. There were not a lot of his works sold publicly till now, after his unfortunate passing. Prices on his paintings that did sell to the public through places like Heritage Auctions, eBay and some private galleries, ranged from $750 to $10,000.00 and that was years ago. You can find out more about George by doing a search for George A. Bush or George Arthur Bush Artist / ILLUSTRATOR. Unfortunately with a name like his, web searches keep popping up things related to the former president George W. Bush. Even though the middle name is different, you still have to search past the former president items. Below in this listing is more information about my late Brother George. A disease that affects different people in different ways. For George the first sings of something being wrong started with his eyesight. Of all things to be affected first, for him as a professional artist on the top of his career, he told me that he was having spells where his vision started jumping / twitching as he described it. That was in 1995 and ever so slightly it got worse as time went on. He kept on with his artwork till his vision got to the point where it took him months to complete just 1 painting. That was around 1998. His wife was a really good artist so she continued a bit doing paintings for paperback book covers. It was a joint effort as George with several different reading glasses taped together would do some of the higher detailed areas on her paintings like the faces and hands. Slowly George started losing his balance and the strength in his legs, then his arms, It was so hard to see such a talented Brother just fade away. So sad. 😞 A List of my Brother George’s lifetime accomplishments as an Artist, illustrator and sculpture. PAINTING CREDITS AND COVER ILLUSTRATIONS Clients: . Ballantine Books/Random House .
