They currently have Silver Strike machines in play at the casino and have had them since 1996. The Four Queens has also hosted several Silver Strike Tournaments over the past 10 years. Due to age, there may be some toning. What is a Silver Strike?A Silver Strike is a Limited Edition Gaming Token which is won from a special slot machine in a protective plastic holder. People from all over the world collect these unique gaming tokens. There is also an official club where people buy, sell and trade Silver Strikes. The first Silver Strikes were won from special slot machines in the Reno/Tahoe area of Nevada in 1992. The tokens have been issued with redeemable values of $2, $3, $7, $10, $20, $28, $40, $200 and $300. The most common denomination is $10. Did you know that the first silver strikes did not have cases on them? The older silver strikes have a higher silver content. As the price of silver went up, the amount of silver went down. Today, most strikes are Clad - brass with heavy silver plating. About the Four Queens: Located at 202 East Fremont Street, the Four Queens opened on June 2, 1964. The casino is named after the builder and majority owner, at the time, Ben Goffstein's four daughters: Faith, Hope, Benita, and Michele. The Four Queens was a key partner in renovating the downtown area and creating the Fremont Street Experience. The property is currently owned by TLC Enterprises which also owns Binion's Gambling Hall. Fun Fact: The Four Queens takes up an entire block on Fremont Street.Fun Fact #2: There were 30 other initial investors in the Four Queens, Ben Goffstein had the majority at 15%.
