Description: PLEASE NOTE: I will be shipping them in the Fishman Richard Z box. THESE ARE MODERNS NOT A SIGNATURE SET… That said. For this fabulous price, what you are getting is not 1 pickup but both! Only used for 15 minutes! Why only 15? Because I got the Richard Z set and wanted a guitar that I could just do a real quick swap. So these are directly out of an LTD EC1000 S. These have voice 1 and 2 and with these you are getting the whole brand new wiring set, screws, and pots that came with the Richard Z set. All brand new! I didn’t even touch them! Now did I not like them? No! I actually loved them, but I loved the Richard Z set more and I’m not removing them just to swap pickups back and forth. I’m not installing them into another guitar and if and when I do get another, it will most likely come with these exact sets. So instead of letting them colllect dust on my shelf I’m letting them go for 150$ why so cheap? Because I’m a bit impatient, trying to fund a music project, so I’m pricing these to sell! Not familiar with these pickups? Well let me tell you about them! These are active pickups with two voice options! Active and passive. Now “voice options” might be a bit misleading but that’s what Fishman says they are. What it ACTUALLY does is switch the characteristics. In voice 1 you get the high output and response of actives, in voice two it actually lowers the perceived output but does not reduce volume! How?! Well… I don’t know.. black magic maybe? Who cares?! It just does! And in doing so I’ve noticed in passive it actually has a tad more bottom end! Ok so great. How do they sound? Glad you asked! These are pretty mid heavy giving it a cocked wah type sound which actually sounds really good through a gain heavy amp! I’m assuming if you are looking at this listing you play metal….right?! Well these are absolutely perfect! These are designed to melt faces during leads and crush bones during rhythm! Unlike an EMG81 where it gets shrill and feels like an ice pick being dug in your ears when shredding up at the 13th -24th fret (you are putting these in a guitar for metal right?! You should have 24 frets! 22 is ok as well..) these do not! It’s a more well rounded tone that keeps you and your audience from bleeding out their ears! But Seller! Making the audience bleed is brutal and metal! Isn’t that what I want?! I hear you ask. Now while I commend your dedication to being brutal and metal, I believe you are mislead! You want to MELT FACES when you are shredding! Their faces won’t melt when they are bleeding from their eardrums and can’t hear you play a gajillion notes in an ascending run in the A minor pentatonic scale!! These are guaranteed to melt their faces and make Yngvie Malmsteen jealous of your awesome shredding skills! Every note is clear and articulate. So much so that John Patrucci of Dream Theater will hear it through the space time continuum and give you a nod of respect involuntarily! Notes will just roll out of your amp seemingly before you even play them! Well that’s all well and good, seller. However, I don’t do leads. I’m more of a rhythm guy. I hear you say. These are great for that too! Didn’t you see the part where I said “BONE CRUSHING RHYTHM”?! These are mid heavy! So they will stick out in the mix, allowing the bass to fill those low end frequencies and with every note being articulate, will cause earth shattering, demon summoning riffs to emit from your amp! In the 15 minutes I had played around with these, I set a drum groove, double tracked a rhythm section and added bass. As soon as I played it all together my house was filled with blood curdling screams! Upon investigation I found my entire family in agony as their bones had all been crushed! They had to be airlifted to a hospital and are in the process of getting new metal skeletons! (Seriously.. buy these! Audio engineers that can withstand the bone crushing force that makes earth quakes real back in shame are not cheap and these hospital bills are killing me!) Put these babies in passive and you can get a beautiful clean sound. Lulling your audience into a false sense of security before you crank the gain back up and summon Lucifer with your brutally evil riffs! With these you’ll have a higher K count than Dethklok! And just like them you’ll have to have your audience sign waivers before you even play a single note! Get these! Become a legend!
