Description: Early twentieth century black and white photograph of native Hawaiian women and children in front of a grass hut. The photograph measures 5 3/8 inches by 3 1/4 inches. The condition is shown in the accompanying photographs. There is a note on the back in ink that reads, "A native's house, common in the interior with a typical family, excepting about half of them are not present." This image is not a postcard and is printed on thinner paper than postcards are printed. This image does not have strong contrast. In the making of the image it appears that something such as a piece of fabric may have been in touch with it before it was completely dry. This is in the dark area of the door and is not apparent except in a very close inspection. The reference number for this listing is #3183.
