The Story: A fifteen year-old student and aspiring writer Sarah Norton (Tatum O'Neal) meets a sixty-year old painter Ashley St. Clair in a cafeteria while hiding from her stalker boy-friend. Ashley hasn't painted for years. As a friend, he agrees to read the poems that Sarah has written. They start seeing each other at his studio and Sarah falls in love with him. Ashley feels a platonic love for Sarah, as she becomes his muse and he decides to paint again. Comment: A very young Tatum O'Neal displays talent beyond her years. Veteran actor Richard Burton - one of the screen and stage giants of our time - proves again that he can master a part without dominating the production. This film is a rather unique portrayal of both innocence and wisdom, and how the actions of two people affect a wider circle of friends and family - all neatly wrapped in a platonic love story. Per the label, the film has 90 minute running time (tested running time is closer to 99 minutes!) and is presented in fullscreen 4:3 format; with English audio, no subtitles.
