Paul Wesley "Doc" Evans (1907-1977) was an American cornetist. He played dixieland jazz, initially playing only in the midwest., turning down offers to play outdide the area. In 1947 he led the band thst played for the opening of Chicago's Jazx Ltd.Club. He worked in Chicago till 1952 (Recording this albim in 1947) then embarked on nationwide tours recording frequently. His last recordings were in 1975. In 1999 a yearly Doc Evan's Jazz Festival was founded. This album includes; Barnyard Blues, Original Dixieland Onestep, Fidgety Feet, Clairinet Marmalade, Sensation Rag and The Jazz Band Ball.Also included are thtee singles, two of which seperayed from anothe album also recorded in 1947 and a single with onley a hand written lable identifying the band. The records are in good - very good conditions and the cover is very good.
