He uses 1 Alfa APA-M25 and 2 Alfa APA-M04 Wi-Fi antennas from Alfa to complete the modification as well as 3 RG178 IPX U.FL BS1 pigtails that are 8 inches long. This kit here includes all of these items. You get 1 APA-M25, 2 APA-M04 antennas, and 3 pigtails. Note per Richard's instructions in the YouTube video, you will need some additional tools, epoxy, etc. to complete the mod. Directional Antennas The Alfa APA-M04 and APA-M25 antennas are both directional. Directional antennas concentrate gain in a particular direction and are excellent for using with drones. While the antenna does not need to be in a perfect line of sight to the signal, it needs to be pointed in the general direction.
