The naming of marbles serves a few purposes for classification, but I prefer to think of the names as a fun way of remembering my youngster years when I was playing marbles in the dirt on the playground during recess time. Some of the names for marbles in this Equinox run include the following: Desert Turquoise, Buttermilk, West Virginian, Oxblood Babe, Superman, Autumn Skies, Citrus Splash, Slimers, Minty Pinks, Christmas Tree, Halloween, Emerald Monarch, Pretty In Pink, Bloody Grinch, Splendor and the famous Peacock. This marble is definitely a West Virginian family marble from this run with it's classic navy blue and bright yellow color palette. The wispy white cloud-like glass is perfectly mixed with the crystal clear base glass to give us a wonderful floater marble. This is a nice tribute to the efforts of the Ukrainian people with the colors of their flag so prominently represented in this West Virginian marble. It's almost like a joint sister city between these two regions of the world that are brought together by something a simple as a child's marble. What wonderful symbolism, right? I would consider this a nice collectable and quickly add it to any collection for a nice conversation piece. I try to rotate my marbles to give the viewer a complete picture of the 360 degrees sphere. I use a high resolution Canon Rebel DSLR camera with built-in flash to show every small detail. If there are any flaws in a marble, then it will definitely show up under these lighting conditions. This marble has no flaws. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is a huge 0.764" in diameter measured with electronic calipers.
