Description: Sixth plate daguerreotype of a man in thermoplastic case. Unsealed.. underside of the glass badly needs to be cleaned.. it appears all of the spots are actually on the glass, not on the plate. I don't see any obvious damage.. some light tarnish spots and possibly some light vertical scratches on the right side background, but I guess they might be buff marks.. I'd have to take it apart to tell positively. I seem to recall the label was still inside of the case. I was going to take this apart and clean the glass, but I don't feel like it. Dag was taken by Nelson Augustus Moore, Hartford, Connecticut.. mat stamped in lower-left. The case is in good antique condition overall. The top hinge and pad are detached. Hopefully my pics show condition details well, I took several different angles... but please ask any questions before committing to purchase. Shipping: First Class (well packed mailer) . Boxed Priority Mail also available at checkout.
