CRISLOID Melon Green & Butterscotch Yellow BAKELITE CHECKERS Vtg BACKGAMMON SET

Description: This vintage Crisloid backgammon set was purchased from an estate, and not previously owned by us. Green "Watermelon" and yellow "Butterscotch" swirled checkers / chips / markers have an ACTUAL measurement of 1-5/8" wide by 7/16" thick (most all sellers of these list the size as either 1-1/2" or 1/3/4" by 1/2"). They have been "Scrubbing Bubbles Tested", and are indeed made of Bakelite. Did not see any cracks or chips to the 30 pieces and doubler upon a close inspection. Butterscotch doubler die was tested, and also was Bakelite. The green dice MAY be Bakelite, as it turned the cotton swab just a bit yellow. White dice are definitely made from another material. Dice cups are swirled plastic, not Bakelite- there is a bit of common wear and slight chips to the top rims, and the bottom of the green colored cup has an area of chipping to the bottom (as pictured). Cork inside the 3" tall cups shows little to no damage, and they display well. Attaché storage case and game board is not in fantastic shape by any means, and includes the two keys for the latches, which lock and open correctly. It shows wear & tear and staining, and the cork playing surface has small wear with little to no cracks, which is detailed in the many photos. Green finished carry case measures 20-3/4" wide, 31-5/8" long when opened, and is 3" tall. The covered fabric hinge in the center has holes from the back of the metal hinge screws, and perhaps slight cracking. Most of these we have seen has a handle which has worn out, and the just wire is remaining, as does this case.
