Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) CORRA LINN, ON THE CLYDE. In visiting the celebrated Falls of Clyde from Lanark, Corra Linn is first reached, passing on the way the village of New Lanark, founded by David and Robert Dale in 1784, but now belonging to the Lanark Spinning Company. The best point from which to view this Fall is probably from a semicircular seat provided on the edge of the opposite cliff. The total fall of water here is about 85 feet, and the body of water is greater than that of any other Fall in Great Britain. This fact, with its setting in the midst of a grand rocky amphitheatre, make it in some respects the finest example of waterfall scenery within the British Isles. On the verge of the cliff stands an old tower known as Wallace's Tower; but any real connection with the hero is doubtful.
