Description: Commodore Amiga TAD8721 Buster chip in nice condition with free spare chip included. Some of these chips may have been pulled from Amiga circuit boards. Some of the legs may be slightly (but not severely) bent. No broken legs. Apparently similar and sometimes (but not always) interchangeable with the 5721 Buster IC chips. Commodore part number 318075-01. We guarantee that at least one of these chips will work (if you are using the chip on the appropriate device)-- although both of them probably will. Fifteen or twenty years ago we picked up dozens of these from a major corporation that used to refurbish Commodore and Amiga computers. They came to us in factory looking chip tubes that were marked as 5721-- even though the chips themselves say TAD8721 on them. Apparently these particular Buster chips cannot be used on all Amiga computers because some Amigas may require different Buster chips. We picked up around ten thousand other Commodore and Amiga chips from the same source and have sold thousands of them over the last 12 or 15 years with great success and very few problems. One customer provided the following information about these chips: "These Buster chips are actually those that need a Buster Tower. The -01 version is based off the original PAL equations in the German A2000 - which drove the bus drivers incorrectly with DMA accesses. The -02 version is the definitive one that shipped with 99.9% of Amiga 2000s. So these will likely not allow DMA cards to work unless someone had the very rare Buster Tower." The person who provided the above information seems to know a lot about these chips. We assume the information he provided is correct but we have not verified it. Please make sure that the chips you buy from us match the ones you are replacing or at least verify that they are interchangeable before ordering. We ship these chips in special static-resistant chip boxes with black crisp anti-static foam to protect them. The photo shown may vary slightly from the actual chip you receive and the date production code may be different. These chips are in nice overall condition but may not be in mint condition due to the fact that they have been stored in chip tubes which may have scratched them slightly or caused other minor blemishes. We take note of the production date codes of all chips shipped and oftentimes put little warranty stickers on the bottom of the chips which we ship in order to make sure that any returns are chips which we actually sold. Any returned chips which do not match the production date codes or which have missing or damaged warranty stickers will not be refunded. If you don't want little warranty stickers on the bottom of these please contact us before ordering to make special arrangements. Note: Our shipping price is a couple of dollars higher than our actual shipping cost on these normally because of our cost on the special anti-static boxes which we ship them in. We have been selling Commodore hardware, parts and accessories for over 40 years (since 1983) and have a great reputation.
