The clock is mounted to a solid mahogany shield wall plaque measuring 12" H x 9-7/8" W. Also comes with a small black resin base if you prefer to place the clock on a mantel or shelf. The clock face has a diameter of 6 inches with a shield type hinged bezel. The clock is powered by a wind-up mechanism, which comes with its original Chelsea key. The clock is an original piece from Chelsea, Massachusetts, U.S.A. and is perfect for any Navy or maritime enthusiast. The clock measures approximately 7.5" in diameter by 3.5" deep with a 6" dial and weighs 10.5 lbs. mounted. The clock was just serviced, and any worn parts were replaced. It is keeping excellent time and striking perfectly.These vintage Chelsea clocks are 100% made in the USA, and in my opinion, they are much better clocks than the ones today that are made overseas. The clock strikes based on the Navy's 4 hour watch. The serial number on the case is 527225, which places the date it was manufactured to around 1948. The serial number on the movement matches the serial number on the case. The case is in very good vintage condition. The nickel finish is 100% original with some minor wear. This 76 year old vintage maritime clock is sure to impress any collector and is a true piece of maritime history. The posted photographs are an important part of the physical condition.
