What makes this PS3 special?The 65nm GPU installed greatly improves this model PS3's reliability, as the most common failure point with these models is the original 90nm GPU, which shipped with a design flaw from the factory. By replacing the original GPU with a newer revision that has been designed and manufactured correctly, you can expect this backwards compatible PS3 to have the same level of reliability as a PS3 slim. In addition, since the newer 65nm GPU is more power efficient, you can also expect this PS3 to consume less energy and operate significantly cooler and quieter. Both the CPU and GPU have been delidded and had all original thermal paste replaced with Arctic MX-4. This will allow the PS3 to expel as much heat as it possibly can while running as quietly as it did when it was brand new. In addition, all of the thermal pads have also been replaced which will prevent various other components from overheating. Replacing all of the NEC TOKIN capacitors will provide the CPU and GPU with clean power for many more years to come. The Panasonic low ESR capacitors installed are designed to be used in applications such as video game consoles, high end graphics cards, gaming PC's, etc. A new CMOS battery will ensure that your PS3 will not forget the time and that you'll be able to play your digital PSN content without any issues for many more years to come. The CMOS battery's connector was also modified so that when the time comes to replace it again, you can easily replace it with any off the shelf CR2032 battery commonly found at your local retail stores. All functionality of this PS3 has been fully tested and confirmed working. This includes PS3, PS2, and PS1 games, as well as USB, SD card, HDMI, AV, Optical audio, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth connectivity. Every interior component has been cleaned. This includes the motherboard, heatsink, disc drive, power supply, WiFi / BT module, antenna, and SD card reader. The exterior shell has been completely washed and polished.
