Description: CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY Jacknife, Very Vintage: Cattaraugus ended business in 1963 after about 100 years of cutlery business. I think this knife was made in the 1950s when imitation pearl and imitation "cracked ice" were popular on pocketknives. Originally this knife had two or three blades but those have been removed, probably ruined. The blade that is left here has also been sharpened so often that it is about 50% of its original height. I suspect it was owned by a pipe-smoker as they frequently use the small blades to tamp or fluff the ember in the pipe bowl. When these are ruined, the smoker sometimes adapt the large blade to fit the bowl of their pipe. My description above summarizes the condition of this once-fine knife: Nice handle slabs. Main blade is very worn. Pen blade is missing. Knife is usable as EDC. Mailing only to USA-48. Postage is usually between $5.00 and $6.26. Buyer pays $4.00, I will pay the rest. Please see my other knives and save postage. I am liquidating my entire collection; please keep me in your favorite sellers, watching for Old Bryan's Old Knives or the seller name below.
