Carpathia, the ship that rescued Titanic, sinking July 17, 1918 reprint

Description: This listing is for a reprint image of the Carpathia, sinking in the Celtic Sea, after being torpedoed on July 17, 1918 , by the German U-boat, U-55. Printed with High Quality, Professional photographic paper. Measures 8.5 x 11 inches. This image is not perfect~ it is a bit grainy and out of focus. I have to assume that it was taken by one of the crew of the ship that resued Carpathia's crew and passengers, HMS Snowdrop. A historic glimpse of an end to a great lady. New information from a purchaser of this print: if you look for pics of Carpathia sinking, that indicates this is a made-up photo...more than one individual has brought this up.....so seller beware. There is a photo, much further away that shows the C sinking and is attributed to the sub that torpedoed the ship. The give-aways on your pic, is that there is no damage where the ship was struck by the 3 torpedos, that all lifeboats are firmly lashed ON the ship....passengers WERE discharged all off the ship at this point of the sinking....and that the flags/smoke indicate the ship is moving at speed...where as at this point in the sinking she was hove-to. No problem for me as it adds to the legend of the event.The White Star Supply Company, watermark will not appear on your copy.Your print will be carefully packaged in a stiff supported heavy mailer & protected on each side by chipboard.
