Description: This is an interesting fast growing columnar cactus. It is a beautiful cactus native to western South America. This will be shipped as a cutting in a long slender box. The pictures of the plant from which the pup was cut are shown. One picture is mid-summer, the other is very recently this fall. I originally grew this from a cutting directly acquired from "SS" the growers who developed this strain. It will root very easily. I recommend standing it in some perlite (probably best to support it with a stake) and misting the perlite occasionally. It may take several weeks to root. Check the base every so often for rootlets. When you start to see small roots coming out, plant in a mix of 50% perlite with 50% organic potting soil. At first, it will need to be staked, but as roots take hold, it will hold itself up. A care sheet will be provided with specific recommendations.
