Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a William Burnham patent, dated June 21, 1904. This patent is for the splicing device. This splicing device is called "Burnham's Cast Iron Ring Splicer on Round Line" by collectors. (ref Unique Wires SP-22) This sample features a single round line wire. Two ends are laced through center of ring and wrapped off on the line. Wire sample is 18" in length. Wire sample shows light pitting. There is one splicing device. Device is well centered. There are no bent or broken wires. We have listed other antique barbed wire samples, and will gladly combine multiple purchases for shipping, when paid on the same invoice.
