Description: Brunfelsia australis or Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow is a dense, evergreen shrub with small, glossy, purplish leaves and a rather twiggy form. It comes into its own in spring when it becomes covered in flaring tubular flowers that start mauve/blue and fade to white - often with both colours on the plant at the same time. Its an excellent coastal plant and the flowers are delightfully fragrant. They make a good backdrop to a shrubbery or mixed border and as they can tolerate some shade, make a good specimen to go under trees, providing they get a decent amount of direct light as well.
