Description: This listing is for a Bright 1950s Turquoise Mexican Embroidered Jacket Size S. This is an iconic Mexican jacket that was made for the tourists visiting Mexico in the 1940s to the 1960s. It is a beautiful deep turquoise colored wool felt with lovely embroidered cacti and mountains, a pot, fans, a rug, a horseshoe, and a sombrero on the front, and fans on the sleeves. It also has cacti and a horseshoe on the collar. The back of the jacket is a tranquil village scene of a sunrise over the mountains, a villager carrying a pot on her head and a basket, cacti, an agave plant, and a fence. It also has red and white cross stitching around the collar, front, bottom, pockets, and cuffs. The jacket is circa 1950s and bears the "Lopez" label. This jacket is in beautiful condition with no holes, stains, or missing threads, and the embroidery is incredible. Any dark areas are shadows from photographing. These jackets, meant to be worn open, always look great with jeans, skirts, and especially, with the vintage Mexican circle skirts. I have a collection of over 140 of these jackets that I have amassed over the last 35 years. I have really enjoyed wearing these jackets over the years, and at this point in my life, I have decided to sell off my whole collection. I selected only jackets that were in impeccable condition. My jackets have been stored in a cedar lined, cool storage space to prevent any damage from sunlight or insects. I have collected every color and design imaginable.
