Description: This is a fascinating, relatively rare, post card sent from British Aden on August 3, 1900, by a German sailor serving aboard the German Brandenburg-class battleship, Kurfurst Friedrich Wilhelm! According to online records, the warship had just finished coaling at Perim, Aden, and was to continue on to join the German East Asia Squadron off of China during the Boxer Rebellion! To continue, the brown, 1-a. GB British India stamp is in very fine condition! The CDS from the Aden P.O. is pretty good, but about 25% of it was not imprinted on the stamp/card. The receiving cancel from the Deep bei Treptow (Rega) P.O. is quite superb, though! Lastly, as for the post card, itself, it's in quite fine condition considering its age and how much it has travelled! It's quite clean. There's only minor wear and tear on it. Noted blemishes aside, this is a really neat, uncommon piece of early 20th Century, British, and German Naval history connected to the German battleship, Kurfurst Friedrich Wilhelm's cruise to China to serve in support of efforts to suppress the Boxers in 1900!
