This statue stands 14 inches tall, comes ready to display, limited to only 2000 pieces not 3000 as earlier reported, sculpted by Randy Bowen, and is fully painted. Iron Man aka. Anthony Edward or "Tony" Stark) is a Marvel comics superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. He was created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck and Jack Kirby and first appeared in Tales of Suspense #39 which was released in March of 1963. As the character developed, Iron Man developed many Armor suit changes and while Tony Stark was the one that wore the suit primarily, there were many other people to wear the Iron man suit.This Retro version of the Iron Man suit appears for the first time on the cover of Tales of Suspense #48 which was published December 1963. On the cover of that issues "See the New Iron Man" is stated. The Cover of that issue of TOS #48 has a picture of both the Gold armor and the new armor on the cover. The top left logo is of the old Gold Armor Iron Man. The new retro suit appears in TOS #49 and Avengers #3 published in January of 1964. In Avengers #2 iron Man appears on the cover in his Gold Suit.
