Description: BERNARD HAITINK RCO - Messiaen, Takemitsu, Bartók (CD, TOWER RECORDS JAPAN 2019) Takemitsu and Messiaen, East and West, the musical space of the East and the West, are beautifully depicted on the original '69 recording, and the exquisite Bartók is newly coupled. This recording of Takemitsu was made in December 1967 in the presence of Toru Takemitsu himself, two years after RCA's Seiji Ozawa & Toronto Symphony Orchestra recording, which was recorded for the first time in the world just one month after its premiere in New York on November 7, 1967. It was recorded as a live recording during a concert in Amsterdam. This sound source was the first non-Japanese conductor to record "November Steps", and it became a hot topic when the Japan LP was released in 1970. The shakuhachi and biwa are not only the names of Katsuya Yokoyama and Nishiki Tsuruta, who are indispensable when performing this work, but also the PHILIPS label, which had a reputation for recording at that time, and the orchestra is also a world-renowned Concertgebouw Orchestra, so it is known worldwide as "November Steps" It can be said that it was one of the opportunities for the work to spread widely. Even today, apart from Ozawa's re-recording (1991) and several recordings by Japan conductors, this Haitink disc is in the extreme right-wing position. The original coupling of Messiaen's work "Waiting for the Resurrection of the Dead" was commissioned by André Malraux, then French Minister of Culture, in 1964 and was also recorded live in February of the same year. In addition to these, this reissue includes Bartók's "Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta" recorded in 1968. This disc was originally released in 1970 as a coupling with Kodály's "Hari János" suite (released in PROC2240 at the same time). This release is new and includes three songs recorded around the same time on one disc. The sound of the orchestra at that time was very good, and the delicate tone necessary for Takemitsu's work is well captured by wonderful recordings. In this reissue, the original high-quality sound source has been digitized at 192kHz/24bit from the original analog master tape in its home country. In addition, an original jacket design is adopted. A new common preface commentary and a previous commentary have been included in the booklet. In addition, this Vintage + plus special edition will release a total of 5 titles.PICTURES ARE OF THE ACTUAL NEW CD WE ARE OFFERINGSEE PICTURES FOR COMPLETE DETAILSFREE U.S. SHIPPING ebay Top Rated Plus seller program We care as much about your item as you do which is why each item is carefully packaged to ensure safe delivery.
