New amphibious assault missions find gamers battling the high winds and heaving seas as they pilot agile attack boats to combat foes on water and on the shore, while the Levolution system challenges players to adjust to dynamically changing environments that feature battlefield deformation and collapsing buildings. The RTS-like Commander mode returns for Battlefield 4, with gamers gathering intelligence, providing key ammo and vehicle drops to the team, and delivering devastating gunship and missile strikes when needed. Multiplayer action remains a key component of the Battlefield experience, with dozens of players competing across a variety of maps in Obliteration mode, where the goal is to grab bombs from the center of the map and use them to destroy the enemy base; Defuse mode, a fast-paced game of attack and defense; and Domination mode, a close-quarters game that requires a mix of strategy and action. Gamers can use the Battlelog to challenge friends to contests and to see how they compare to competitors from around the globe, and the Battlelog can also be accessed from tablets and mobile devices. This Limited edition includes the China Rising expansion pack, which features new vehicles, equipment, and four maps set on mainland China.
