Description: This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing. This sample features a John H. Bains patent, dated April 29, 1902. This wire is called "Bains' Crimped-In H Barb on Two Galvanized Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 219-B). This wire features two twisted together round line wires. Line wires are both galvanized. Barbs are two pointed made from a staple shaped round barbing wire. "U" of the staple is placed between line wires and points bent and crimped in opposing directions around the two lines. Wire sample shows very light pitting. There are four barbs. Barbs are well spaced, with some slippage, and cut is well centered. There is some bending of barbing points, but no broken, or missing barbing points.
