Description: up for consideration is fine old original oil on canvase California Landscape by Listed American Landscape Artist Robert W. Wood (1889-1979). The painting alone measures 25 x 30 inches with overall dimensions being 33 by 38 inches approximately. It is signed on the lower left and titled "Kings Canyon Calif" and it looks like it is numbered #241. It sports an original Gallery Tag from Hudson's Dept Store in Detroit known and the J.L.Hudson's Company and looks to be dated 53 for 1953. Hudsons was known to have an Art and Antiques Dept. accordingly the Company split the profits 50/50 with the artist. The painting has been authenticated and appraised etc... I can't seem to find another example of the Kings Canyon area in the historical record so this may be a view or setting that is uncommon. The appraisal and certification comes with the painting. Too me Robert Wood is a household name I have seen a million cardboard prints and when I first starting out in the business I dreamed of actually finding one or being able to purchase one.
