It is 100% genuine.You will receive the EXACT item pictured. The book has signs of age and wear, including but not limited to creasing along the edges of the paper cover, scratches, and fingerprints on the gold paper within the book. Every page of the book has been meticulously checked and all are in good condition with minimal wear. None of the pages have any damage or creasing, and none of the pages are missing. There are 2 variations of the paper cover on this book. One with shiny gold lettering, and one with flat gold lettering. This is the flat gold lettering variation. There are a plethora of non-genuine Infinity art books available for sale online in the $200-800 range. You MUST be very careful when shopping for one of these. The reality is, the real book is more valuable than that, and the real book is very rare. There is no reason that there should be 50+ of them available online given the rarity of it. I took plenty of close up photos of parts that non-genuine books typically get wrong, and I will explain all of the photos in detail and what you need to look out for below. Photo Descriptions and What To Look Out For in a Genuine Infinity Book Photo 1: Front cover. Please notice the creasing at the top of the paper cover Photo 2: The tip of Sailor Moon's left wing should not be touching or going over the folded edge of the paper cover on a real book. Non-genuine books typically have the wing touching or going over the edge Photo 3: The "KE" letters in TAKEUCHI and the colors & line work between Sailor Moon's legs are clean and clear. Non-genuine books typically mess this part up and it ends up being muddy / blurry looking. Also, the distance between the kanji for Naoko Takeuchi and the bottom of the cover should be long. Non-genuine books have a much smaller gap between the kanji and the bottom of the cover. Lastly, the 2 locks of Sailor Moon's hair flow to the left at the bottom of the cover. Non-genuine books show the hair cut off and flowing downward instead of to the left Photo 4: The distance between the top of the cover and the "PRETTY SOLDIER" text should be short. Non-genuine books have a much wider gap between the top of the cover and the text Photo 5: The bottom-right corner of the rectangle that contains the Volume Infinity text should be over the center of Sailor Moon's left hair bun. Non-genuine books have this rectangle shifted noticeably to the left, to where the bottom-right corner of the rectangle is no longer above the bun, but to the left of it Photos 6-9: Back cover. There are some noticeable scratches under brighter lighting as shown in photo #8, and creasing along the edges of the cover as shown in photos #9-10. This is another GOOD sign of a genuine, old book Photos 10-11: Sailor Moon's hair flows around the folded edge of the cover to the inside of the book. Non-genuine books do not have her hair flowing around the edge of the cover, as it is cut off before reaching that point Photos 12-13: There should be only a small distance between the bottom right corner of the rectangle with the photo in it and the edge of the cover. Non-genuine books typically have a much larger gap between the bottom right corner and the edge of the cover Photo 14: You can see fingerprints on the gold paper. This is another GOOD sign of a genuine book, as non-genuine books do not show fingerprints like the original one Photo 15: One of the most import parts of a genuine book: the rice paper. Non-genuine books mess this part up big time. On non-genuine books, the "SAILOR MOON" text is completely mirrored / reversed Photo 16: The spine of the paper cover. Similarly to photo 5, the distance between the top of the cover and the kanji for Naoko Takeuchi text should be short. Non-genuine books have a much wider gap between the top of the cover and the text Photo 17: Bottom of the spine of the paper cover Photos 18-22: The hardcover book with the paper cover removed. Please view these photos carefully for the condition of the book. Photo 21 shows some wear to the top of the spine. Please also note that the distance between the top of the spine and the kanji for Naoko Takeuchi is wider on the spine of the hardcover than on the paper cover. This is normal! Photos 23-24: The "edition notice" page of the book. The text should be a dark, almost navy blue. The number next to "Printed in Japan" should be USAGI-00-000000-0, as the book was self-published by Naoko Takeuchi and does not have an official UPC as it was never sold in stores.
