Description: For sale is a hexagon-shape cabinet cup and saucer by Ardalt-Lenwile in a Rococo style. The small decorative cup features six panels of hand painted cherubs over a thee-footed base with a dragon-shape handle; the feet and handle is finished in gold with gold lines around each panel and at lip. The saucer has a similar design with the six panels surrounding a center well featuring one large cherubs. The cherubs are set against a tapestry-like background of scrolling flourishes in white, gold and light green over a base of dark forest green. This set has a big impact in a compact form. Both pieces are in very good condition with no damage and a tiny bit of wear on the nose of the dragon (photograph 17). The cup is unmarked. The saucer has an iron-red ID number, 6912, and a red on silver foil sticker for Ardalt-Lenwile. Made in Japan. US Quarter included for scale only.
