Description: This listing is for an Antique White Ironstone Round Chamber Pot or Commode Pot with lid and handle. This sturdy little chamber pot can grace your bathroom and hold all sorts of things from wash cloths to cotton balls. Resting on a shelf it's a gentle nod to another era when luxuries were rare. It measures approx 8” tall with lid in place. It is 9 1/8” OD across the flared top and approx 7” ID X 4 1/2” deep. The bowl stands 5” tall with a 5” diameter raised dry foot concave base. The bowl has no signs of crazing but he top has some light crazing. The design around the bowl resembles a picket fence design with the top of the fence matching the design on the lid or cover. The bowl and the lid are not damaged but there are a few flaws in the pottery. I tried to take pictures of a couple. The cover measures 9 1/2” diameter and approx 3” tall to the top of the knob handle. I have found a number of examples of the mark on the bottom but no one identified the maker or time of manufacturing. Best I can figure is late 19th century till about 1910. If anyone knows different, I will be glad to revise the listing. Please see attached pictures for details. Thanks for looking.(M5-18)
