Description: This is a gorgeous antique serving bowl with lid made by Royal Doulton. It has a ornate handles and a finial. It was manufactured in Royal Doulton factory in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, known as the the centre of English pottery in the late 1800's. It is called the Norfolk pattern in Flow Blue which is a pottery decorating technique that originated in England in the 1820s. It involves firing white porcelain with a blue printed design that seeps into the glaze, creating a blurred or "flowed". This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Its Back-stamp reads: Doulton Burslem England Norfolk Rd No 251612. Measures 9.75" long ( 11.5" with handles) x 7.5" wide. It is 2.75" tall without lid and 5.5" tall with lid to top of finial.
