Description: From my collection, this is an antique wooden doll. She has a beautifully carved and painted face with defined center parted hair pulled back into a bun her nose has defined nostrils and her lips a nice center bow. Her ears are visible below her hair. Look at her torso, she even has some carving indicating rubs. I think she is German because of her hands. Carvers in the Oberammergau region also carved religious figures as well as dolls and their hands featured softly expressive hands which she does have. I think she may have originally been a religious figure. What is rare about her is her jointing. She is jointed at her neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees, and ankles . She stands 13 “tall, a perfect cabinet size. She has no clothes and I never added any. I think her magic is in her carving and construction, and I didn’t want that hidden. My asking price is what I paid, but I will consider reasonable offers.
