Description: This is a lovely and well done Antique Old French Impressionist Floral Portrait Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a beautiful brunette woman standing on her terrace, surrounded by colorful and delicately painted bushels of bright flowers. The young woman's eyes look away from the viewer, and the subject, style, and stretcher bars (visible on the verso) lead me to believe this is either French or Italian. This work is signed in the lower left corner, however the signature is illegible to me. Perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? This painting likely dates to the 1930's - 1940's. Approximately 23 1/2 x 27 1/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 15 3/4 x 19 3/4 inches. Good condition for age, with one tiny tear to the canvas, and moderate wear and wood splitting to the original period gilded frame. This painting is loosely mounted in its frame and would require some maintenance for optimal display purposes. The frame may need to be replaced, or at least the inner part of the frame (please see photos carefully.) Acquired from an old estate in San Juan Capistrano, California.
