Description: up for consideration is fine old interesting piece of technology called an ice chest. It is tagged Peter A. Vogt and dated 1879. The piece stands about 45 inches in height with a width of 32 inches and a depth of 23 inches including the porcelain handles. The piece is quite interesting...it has an upper chamber and lower of which when you open the door there is a galvanized tray that held a block of ice. To the right is a series of iron and mesh shelves that held your items you wanted cooled. The piece is very early of which one can see the paneled sides and front with the back with the original wainscot. It is sturdy well built and a great piece of our history. Although they are not extremely rare they are definitely hard to come by especially in this condition. Free local Pick up free short distance delivery we can also help arrange long distance delivery.
