Description: Who knew a tureen could be so stunningly beautiful and hard to part with? We stumbled upon this antique piece, seeming from Kutahya, a western Turkish city very well known for its ceramic ware - specifically its bold use of outline, and colors, like turquoise, cobalt and brick-reds. While the maker only left behind two cobalt-blue blobs (on the bottom and on the underside of the lid), it has been impossible to trace the exact origin. What we do know is that this piece is rare - we havent seen another quite like it - and is in incredibly condition with no chips or cracks and its so beautiful to look at. The almost watercolor effect of the hand-painting is gorgeous on the creamy off-white background. Believed to be from KÜtahya, Turkey early 20th century, based on similar styles and markings. 11" tall This is a pre-loved dandie; in incredibly antique condition, its been very well cared for. No chips or cracks present.
