Description: This French bronze statue of Thetis was done by French sculptor Emile Herbert. The sculpture is dated 1867, and the founder is G&S (Georges Servant) both as marked on the rear bottom edge of the bronze. (See Pictures). The title of this piece is Thetis who was the Greek Goddess and the mother of Achilles. She made him the invincible warrior in the Iliad in Greek Mythology. The bronze is in overall very good condition with some tiny dings on the base edge. The piece appears to be untouched with its original patina. The approximate measurements are as follows: height is 15”, base is 4 1/2” x 6”. The bronze weighs approximately 11 pounds.
