Description: A WONDERFUL AND RARE ANTIQUE CUPID CHERUB ANGEL PUTTI AMOUR FIGURINE WHICH I BELIEVE IS A PEN TRAY OR MENU HOLDER, PROBABLY SITZENDORF OR OLD DRESDEN, FROM GERMANY HOLDING A SPOON IN FRONT OF A BLUE DRAPERY. HALLMARKED WITH A MAKERS MARK AND DEPOSE (FRENCH IMPORT MARK) DATING TO C1850. This is a wonderful early antique cherub. The work is superb! I believe it is most likely Sitzendorf, or Old Dresden, from Germany although it may be by another maker. The condition of the angel is wonderful. There is the most minute fleck off the farthest left bit of robe on the cherub - basically not visible, but I wanted to mention it. The cherub comes from a superb collection of early cherubs angels and animal porcelains which we will be listing. This is one of the finest collections! The cherub is 5.5 inches tall.
