Description: Description A very nice Antique (circa late 1800s, early 1900) mixed metal Jewelry or Vanity Box. The Box is Asian in origin and dates from the Art Nouveau Movement which you can see in the design of the feet. It is made of a light weight metal with an ebonized finish, there is a silver Dragon medallion on the top and etched birds with gilt highlights on the sides. I think the Dragon is sterling silver, perhaps sterling although it is not marked. The box was hand crafted and measures 5 3/8" x 3 3/8" x 3" high. It is in very good overall condition. The only thing thing to note is light rust on the band around the opening, see photos.
