Description: Here's a beautiful antique mantle clock by Ansonia of New York. The clock has a very ornate ormolu case that seems very French. The base of the clock has a hand painted courting scene which is beautifully done. The dial is porcelain and is marked as shown. This piece comes from a recent estate sale here in the Dallas area. I don't know enough to see if it is running, but it was a prized family possession that was well taken care of. The clock key and weight are attached at the back with a twist tie for safe keeping. The clock measures 14½ inches tall and 8 inches wide. It is heavy and weighs about 10 pounds. It is in all original condition. The dial has some crazing lines which are visible in the pictures.
