Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 19th Century Folk Art Cauldron from Lyden, Washington A beautiful, unusual, and unique folk/treen art primitive cauldron with old inscription on base. All components appear to be hand-turned wood. Cauldron has an iron handle and hangs from what appears to be a brass or alloy chain. The three wooden supports are crossed like a teepee as seen in traditional Irish cauldrons. I am not sure what the purpose of this piece was. Possibly a change/jewelry dish, Halloween decoration, or incense burner. Perhaps some research on the inscription can provide some insight: “Made in 1891 For Alice Osborn of Lynden Wash now Alice Henrickson By William Rittenburg of Lynden Wash. Alice Henrickson died June 24th 1927 (illegible)” Piece is dusty – I do not clean antiques, at all, and always leave those choices up to the buyer. Please see photos for general condition and wear. There are numerous chips, scratches, dents and dings. Measures approximately 10 ¾” tall and 7" wide (at widest point). Shipping: All items are well-packaged and shipped promptly.
