Description: I have for sale an absolutely beautiful mid-19th century Pennsylvania Dutch German fraktur and family bible. Leisey Family, Lancaster, Pennsylvania I reserved a majority of the photos above for the fraktur, but I have provided (124) photos below in the listing, to give you a much more thorough view of this awesome fraktur family bible. Each fraktur page is in very good condition. The only real issues with the book are the board covers. The front board is completely separated, and the back board is held on my one thread. Everything is original on the bible and the fraktur is in very good condition. Once the boards are fixed you will have a beautiful bible and fraktur in great original condition. Also, if you look at the last few photos below in the listing you can see some identifying information of the family who owned the bible and an ink drawing on the day his wife died in 1901. Accompanying the ink drawing is a heart wrenching moment from the man about his wife who he clearly missed terribly. I am thinking a much younger Elizabeth was the original artist in 1855?
