Description: This bronze pendant has two rounded points extending in opposite directions at the top. This may be a minimalist reference to birds. However, the shape of the object itself resembles a Roman distaff...a tool used to hold fibers so that they may be spun into thread. As spinning was traditionally the task of females, the distaff eventually came to represent the work of women. This item comes to us from a NYC auction after being housed with an east coast collection. The piece is about 2.5" long and is shipped with the display case included with purchase.
