The exterior of the pipe will be cleaned and polished to bring out the grain and check for any cracks or repairs. Any oxidation will be removed from the stem, treated with obsidian oil and or polished. I NEVER sand or "top" the bowl keeping the pipe dimensions exactly as the carver intended it to be, so most pipes will have slight rim darkening. I will always show High def rim pictures.
