Description: You are buying a blank PCB to build an Amiga Raspberry Pi Drive, which is a floppy disk drive emulator. This sale does NOT include any electrical components and/or the actual Raspberry Pi singleboard computer. These parts have to be sourced/provided by yourself. You will only receive the PCB shown in the first image and some printed instructions.Additional images are just for illustration of the final product and may show slightly other versions thereof. Unlike other floppy drive emulators (e.g. GoTek) this one can handle up to 4 drives simultaneously depending on firmware used and wire modifications/preparations. An additional 4-drive CIA adapter for Amiga 500/500+ is available here. This device will work with any classic Amiga computer (A1000, A500(+), A600, A1200, A2000, A3000, A4000D/T). Connection can be internal or external with appropriate cable adapters. This version allows for more flexible mounting options of the ribbon cable connector on the upper or lower side of the PCB. ADF and ADZ files with 880/1760kB capacity can be used with it. Thousands of these disk images can be put on the Raspberry Pi's SD card.Kickstart 1.2 can be set up to load automatically on an Amiga 1000.Most games and demos will work fine. Each of the "virtual" floppy drives can hold up to 4 disks which can be swapped by pushing the "Change" button.Data can also be written back onto the disk images by pushing the "Write" button.By pushing "Change" and "Write" simultaneously you can re-enter the setup menu. This newer version also supports control via a rotary encoder with push button, but this feature requires a specific firmware which is available for free download. I have built several of those interfaces with basic soldering skills and standard electronics components such as resistors, Schottky diodes and capacitors as well as a 74LS06 logic gate IC.Starting with version 3.3 the PCB also contains circuitry for an 74LS04 to show additional activity LEDs for each virtual drive. All LEDs can be connected to an external panel if required. If the rotary encoder feature should be used, the recommended type is PEC11R-4220K-S0024. The encoder can be attached directly onto the PCB or be placed remotely via wires. A Raspberry Pi single board computer (not included in this auction) has to be attached/connected to this PCB to make the floppy drive emulator work. I have successfully tested a Raspberry Pi 1 model A+ and a Raspberry Pi Zero with this PCB. Other Raspberry Pi models may be compatible as well. All required software for the Raspberry Pi is freely available for download. Although I have designed and tested this PCB to the best of my abilities, I can not take any responsibility for any damage caused to your machine.Connection and usage is at your own risk! After all, this is a private sale of DIY equipment. Thanks for understanding!
