Description: Description: This is a neat and very old steam engine made by American Flyer (The A.C Gilbert C.O) and it is in S Scale. This particular Model was made from 1951-1953 and is numbered #302 Generation and it is a generation 3 Atlantic Locomotive. This one has the tin plate tender with a plastic boiler with lighting inside the boiler and a 3 position e-unit in the tender (No Smoke Or Sound in this one). Also, I am listing several other American Flyer Steam Locos at the link below.Condition: This one has been used and for its age it is in great mechanical shape it appears the e-unit has been taken apart and cleaned (it is highly polished) and it appears the motor armature has been cleaned and everything greased quite well and although the wiring appears it is some sort of replacement wire, it appears to have been done quite nicely though it cannot be unplugged (since it is now hard wired / soldered in, which is why you see the two empty screw holes on the rear of the cab where a plug plate used to be. Now with all this being said I went ahead and set it on my AF S scale test track using my post war transformer and I have to say that I was blown away at how good this runs! It runs absolutely top notch with the e-unit working flawlessly and the light up front being nice and bright though again this one has no smoke (and I am unsure if it came that way or if it was made that way layer)! Now, Cosmetically though it is not in quite as good of shape, since it has some scratches and paint chips and some discoloration here and there as well. Lastly, please look closely at the photos and make your own judgment on this one so that there are not surprises. CLICK HERE TO SEE MY OTHER S SCALE TRAINS!
