The stamps were sold only as souvenir sheets. Designed and illustrated by Warner Bros., a Time Warner entertainment company, the stamp features the cartoon character Bugs Bunny leaning against a rural mail box and holding his trademark carrot. Bugs Bunny served as the official "ambassador" for STAMPERS, the Postal Service's stamp collecting program for children. The Postal Service issued a self-adhesive souvenir sheet of ten 32-cent Sylvester and Tweety commemorative stamps on April 27, 1998, in New York, New York. The 33-cent Daffy Duck commemorative stamp was issued in Los Angeles, California, on April 16. The Daffy Duck stamp was designed and illustrated by Ed Wleczyk, Frank Espinosa, and Brenda Guttman of Los Angeles, California. America's favorite frolicking, frantic, feathered friend debuted in the black-and-white cartoon "Porky's Duck Hunt." However, it was not until his second short, "Daffy Duck and Egghead," in which he again appeared with Porky Pig, that the hyperactive, unpredictable duck was dubbed "Daffy." He was an immediate hit, and Daffy and Porky became an established team that worked together for many years. Though Daffy's overbearing personality played well off of Porky's shy disposition, Daffy proved an even better foil for another Looney Tunes character — the suave, unflappable Bugs Bunny, who was featured on the first Looney Tunes stamp in 1997. The Postal Service issued a 33-cent Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner commemorative stamp in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 26, 2000. The stamp, designed and illustrated by Frank Espinosa and Ed Wleczyk of Los Angeles, California, went on sale nationwide April 27, 2000. This is the fourth stamp in the US Postal Service's Looney Tunes Series. Wile E. Coyote has appeared in more than forty cartoons with Road Runner, the speedy object of his appetite. A few other cartoons have pitted Wile E. against the sharp-witted Bugs Bunny. Wile E. Coyote is a lovable anti-hero. His confidence and ambition never cease in his pursuit of the elusive Road Runner, who, relying on an instinctive gift for survival, effortlessly thwarts all his schemes. The Postal Service issued a 34-cent "That's All Folks!" commemorative stamp in Beverly Hills, California, on October 1, 2001. The stamp, designed and illustrated by Ed Wleczyk of Los Angeles, California, went on sale nationwide October 2, 2001. The stamp was produced in souvenir sheets of ten. The first true star of the Looney Tunes cartoons, Porky Pig is popular with audiences of all ages and has appeared in more than 160 productions. Porky Pig experienced several changes in his early years, appearing as child, father, and young suitor in succeeding cartoons. Later he became a more consistent personality with a gentle stammer, wide- eyed appearance, and boyish nature. Eventually, Porky Pig was redesigned as a more adult-looking character and cast as a wry foil for the silly Daffy Duck. Porky Pig, already a famous star, was guaranteed immortality when he was chosen to deliver his famous phrase "That's all Folks!" at the end of the Looney Tunes cartoons. Porky Pig completes the Postal Service's Looney Tunes Series.
