Description: Abstract oil painting, 1992 by Jerrold Schoenblum 24"x 56" on canvas, wood frame Jerrold Schoenblum was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1938. His formal art training was at the State University of New York at Oswego where he spent four years of study with Roy Lichten- stein. His painting studies continued for the next two years at Brooklyn College with ad Reinhardt and Burgoyne Diller where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1962. Jerrold Schoenblum is an Associate Professor of Art at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, C.U.N.Y. and was the Deputy Chairperson of the department for twelve years. He has taught fine arts at the college since 1968 and prior to that taught part-time at Wagner College, Staten Island, New York. He has also taught in the New York City Public School System and in many Creative Arts Programs for N.Y.C. In 1985-1986 his C.U.N.Y. Fellowship Sabbatical Award took him to London where he spent a year painting. He was able to travel extensively through European museums and galleries.
