Andrew Barton Paterson CBE, (b.17 Feb 1864 d. 5 Feb 1941), was an Australian bush poet, journalist and author, widely considered one of the greatest writers of Australia's colonial period.SIGNED "A.B.Paterson" to the front endpaper with above it inscribed "Gwen Missing 29 July 1938" in the same hand and ink.A search of "Trove" suggests that Miss Gwen Missing is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Claude Missing of Ayr in North Queensland. She went to St Gabriel's School in Charters Towers, Queensland. In 1937 Miss Gwen Missing was living at "Kelvin", Cremorne Rd., Cremorne, Sydney NSW and was regularly mentioned in the society columns in both Sydney and Queensland newspapers during the era in question.Ephemera:A facsimile of A.B. Paterson's signature from the National Library of Australia file on Banjo Paterson which is nearly identical.A facsimile of the Australian $10 note featuring A.B.
