Description: This is an all original Ford steering column to transmission interlock rod which is correct for all 1971 1972 1973 Mustang cars with the 351 engine and automatic transmission. The automatic transmission used behind the 351 engine was called by for the "FMX" trans. This is the rod which goes between the shift lever on the side of transmission and the lower end of the steering column and activates the gear shift lock on the transmission, locking the trans in park when the key is removed. These are frequently lost or discarded over the years and are not reproduced. The only way your trans can be locked is if this rod is in place.
