Keep seeds moist until seedlings appear, about 10 days. Thin seedlings to about 20" apart. After this plant is established, it is pretty much carefree. Steady medium water and a little fertilizer. Mature plants will tolerate heat and some drought. Starts blooming in mid-summer and blooms through to fall. Cut back bloom spikes after first flowers have run their course. Blue Sage will get wider and bushy, and then will produce a lot more flowers on shorter spikes. This plant can be grown as a perennial in the warmer states.
